Who We Are

The James Conlon & Solomon Fund (James Conlon Fund) is dedicated to the memory of James D. Conlon. Its primary purpose is to issue financial awards to nonprofit programs and institutions in remembrance of his life and work.

The fund is a Limited Liability Company that neither seeks nor expects to profit from its mission. It is managed by the following membership board of four and the board’s consultant: Michael J. Conlon, Sean P. Conlon. Margaret M. Conlon, Phyllis D. Conlon and Jacqueline Khiu.

our mission

The James Conlon Fund was created to support nonprofit programs related to the interests of James Conlon. Those interests include but are not limited to the following:

  1. The conservation of local, history, architecture, and customs, particularly those in Queens County, New York and throughout the Middle East and North Africa
  2. Photography as both an art form and tool of instruction
  3. The preservation of a variety of music forms and styles, from hip hop to rock, jazz and Latin music
  4. Art spaces for young artists and writers in Queens County, New York
  5. The humane treatment of animals
  6. Taekwondo instruction for young people
  7. Cycling programs for young people
  8. Proposals designed to enrich the learning opportunities of urban children living in poverty or diminished circumstances
